This was from my first 2 days in Victoria... I hope you enjoy them...
These 2 ships are the Pacific Swift on the right and the Pacific Grace on the left... the Swift is 86 feet on deck and the Grace is 109 feet.... About 14 years ago, when I was living on the street here in Victoria, I use to climb the rigging of the Swift in the evening with the cook of that ship and we would sit way up in the crows nest and drink pepsi's.. lol. I also have a special connection to the Pacific Grace because I actually helped to lay one plank of her hull. It was being built when I was there and I did a couple weeks of work for the company and one of the things was help lay that plank.
The Nova Spirit was in the harbor. She was a very big yacht. I would guess at about 140 feet long and about $40 million dollars... She was quite the yacht...
And if you look closely, this boat is part of our Canadian Navy!!! lol... She has long since been retired and now is sort of on display in the harbor....
The main Causeway of Victory.. Down here the lower section is filled usually with buskers and people selling stuff they've made... It's an artists paradise...
Anyone hungry? Welcome to China town....
This whale is in the front of the Empress hotel. It appears to be made from 3 different tree's.. That has to be a lot of work to maintain...
So how would you like to live in one of these places? This is in the island chain between Vancouver and the Twasan ferry terminal...
I've always been fascinated by this. If you notice in the picture there is a distinct line in the water. That is where 2 currents meet....
I saw this couple on the ferry and just couldn't resist taking their pic....
This is one of my favorite shops in Victoria. If anyone is looking for a good cigar shop, it doesn't get better than this!!!
I had to include this pic for my special friend Trish!!! He was such a cute dog. The owners were just taking him to go pee before getting on the ferry...
